Final Call for Rockstars 2026

There’s still time to become a Rockwatch Rockstar!

The summer holidays may be drawing to a close, but there’s still time to turn something that has fascinated you this summer into an entry for the Rockstars Young Geologists’ Competition 2026.

And we can’t wait to see what you’ve discovered!

Perhaps you found an amazing fossil on the beach, spotted some spectacular rocks on holiday, visited a museum, joined us on a Rockwatch field trip or became fascinated by something you saw, read or heard.

Maybe you’ve been investigating dinosaurs, crystals, gemstones, volcanoes, meteorites, earthquakes or the forces that have shaped our planet. Perhaps you’ve been thinking about our planet’s future and how Earth science can help us understand and care for it.

Whatever has sparked your curiosity, we want to hear about it!

There is no set theme for Rockstars. We celebrate all things geology, so choose something that interests YOU and show us what you’ve discovered.

Your entry could be a model, poster, booklet, artwork, collection, video, presentation or something completely different. We love seeing the wonderfully imaginative ways our young geologists bring their ideas to life.

Could you be one of our Rockstars?

There are some fantastic prizes to be won thanks to the generous support of our long-standing competition sponsors, the Anglo American Foundation.

Your work could also be featured in our competition highlights online or in print – and you could join the growing list of Rockstars who have turned their enthusiasm for geology into further study and even careers in Earth science.

Most importantly, we want to celebrate your curiosity, discoveries and enthusiasm for our amazing planet.

So, if something has captured your imagination this summer, there’s still time to share it with us.

Your entry must reach us by the end of 31 August 2026.

Check out more competition details, entry information and plenty of tips and inspiration to help you finish your project.

We know how much imagination, research, enthusiasm and hard work goes into your entries, and seeing them is always one of the highlights of our Rockwatch year.
