Welcome to Rockwatch, the UK’s nationwide club for young geologists. It is the junior club of the Geologists’ Association – the UK-based Society for amateur and professional geologists and earth scientists.
Rockwatch is the club for children and young people who are interested in things geological – rocks, fossils, minerals and landscape. Our activities are aimed at junior members under the age of 16 and for older young people between 16-18 years old.
Vision
Our vision is for Rockwatch to inspire young people to study, interpret and understand planet Earth and its processes.
Mission
Rockwatch is the nationwide club for young people that engages, informs and encourages them to explore the Earth sciences through its programme of field trips, magazines, practical sessions and competitions.

We had a great time this afternoon. A real privilege to have been behind the scenes. Thank you so much for organizing it.

Have just returned from the behind the scenes tour at the NHM and felt we had to write and say thank you for a fantastic day. We thoroughly enjoyed it and could easily have spent much longer in there. Please pass on our thanks to the staff who are obviously passionate about their areas of expertise and gave up their time to show us round and gave freely of their time and knowledge.

Rockwatch is a fantastic organisation and has enthused my children into discovering the world of geology. The field trips that you organise are always great and finding fossils is the highlight for the children and the grown ups!

We love Rockwatch ... All their events and field trips, especially the Swanage residential, are fantastic fun, enjoyable and educational. My favourites have been- going behind the scenes at the Natural History Museum and the British Geological Survey.
