The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival is back for 2025, and Rockwatch is excited to be joining the fun once again!
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Jurassic Coast, this vibrant, family-friendly festival is a highlight of the geological calendar. Over the weekend, visitors can enjoy a fantastic mix of exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning that brings Earth’s ancient past vividly to life.
Throughout the festival, there will be fascinating talks from leading geologists and palaeontologists who will share their insights into prehistoric life and the incredible stories hidden within the rocks beneath our feet. Live performances and science shows will entertain and educate, blending geology with creativity and fun.
One of the festival’s biggest highlights is the series of guided fossil walks along the dramatic coastline, where visitors of all ages can search for real fossils and learn how to spot them safely and responsibly. There will also be a wide range of interactive workshops, perfect for young and budding geologists keen to get hands-on with their learning.
Competitions and games will run across the weekend, offering fun challenges for those eager to test their fossil knowledge or show off their creative side.
Rockwatch is delighted to be part of this exciting event once again, joining forces with the Geologists’ Association and many other brilliant organisations. We’ll be there all weekend with our own stand packed full of fossil-themed crafts, educational activities, and plenty of opportunities for families to get involved and learn more about the amazing world of geology.
