Join Rockwatch this summer holiday for a fantastic day of geological discovery in Stevenage!

We’re delighted to be teaming up with Nikki Edwards from GeoLab and Alex Ayling from the GA to bring you a fun-filled day of interactive Earth science activities, hands-on experiments, and a geological adventure through the heart of Stevenage.

The day begins with a series of engaging GeoLab activities designed to introduce some of the biggest ideas in geology through exciting demonstrations and practical activities. You’ll explore the rock cycle, discover how different rocks are formed, investigate geological processes, and handle real geological specimens.

After lunch, we’ll head to the wonderful Stevenage Museum where we’ll explore local geology and discover how rocks have shaped the town around us. We’ll then take a guided building stones walk through Stevenage, learning to identify different rocks and geological features hidden in plain sight.

You’ll never look at buildings, pavements and public spaces in quite the same way again!
