Leeson House Field Studies Centre
DEADLINE FOR BOOKINGS – FRIDAY 28 JULY 2023!
Join us for a family fun week of exploring Dorset’s magnificent Jurassic coastline from Monday 31st July to Friday 4th August 2023 investigating its fabulous geology. Perfect for geology-loving children!
You’ll go on fossil collecting trips and other geological adventures during the day to places like Portland and enjoy activities and talks in the evenings.
Led by Alan Holiday, Barry Cullimore and Richard Edmunds, and we’re delighted that former Rockwatcher and now PhD student of Paleontology, Phil Vixseboxse will be joining the team.
Accommodation during the week will be at the Leeson House Field Studies Centre in Langton Maltravers just outside Swanage – comfortable, spacious and with wonderful grounds. The cost of the trip includes all your food and transport during the stay and if you arrive by train you’ll be met at the station. Aimed at over 7s.
Leeson House is a fantastic Centre and we know you will all be sorry to leave by the Friday lunchtime!
The cost of the fieldtrip is:
- Adults (aged from 18 up) £340.00
- First child (up to 17 years) £240.00
- Second child £152.00
- Young adults (18 and in full time education) £240
It’s a wonderful week with the opportunity to spend time with other children and families interested in geology and with experts in the field. And with luck the sun will shine!
