Get ready for something truly special…
Rockwatch is heading to Dewars Farm Quarry in Oxfordshire for the very first time — and this is no ordinary field trip.
This working quarry has revealed one of the UK’s most exciting dinosaur track sites, where you can walk alongside the footprints of giant Jurassic creatures that roamed the area around 166 million years ago.
During the day, Rockwatchers will:
- Explore a real quarry landscape and learn how it reveals hidden stories of the past
- See and study dinosaur footprints up close — including huge plant-eating giants and sharp-clawed predators
- Discover how these tracks were formed in ancient mudflats beside a warm, shallow lagoon
- Search for fossils in loose quarry rocks — including shells, sea urchins and more
- Enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by incredible geology
This is a rare opportunity to experience a site that is still actively being uncovered and studied — a place where each footprint adds to our understanding of prehistoric life.
What you need to know:
- Minimum age: 7+
- Cost: £5 per person (Rockwatch members only)
- Group size: Limited spaces available
