Meet some very old fossils!  Go behind the scenes at the Oxford Museum of Natural History and have a close encounter with some of it’s hidden treasures.  You’ll be taken around by geologists who work there who will share their expertise with you.  Only 40 parents and children (who must be over 7) can go on this event and they will be in groups of 10.  It’s a fabulous opportunity to see what the general public never see!

The day begins at 10.15 for a 10.30 start and will end at about 3.00.  There will be time to wander around the museum on your own in the afternoon.

Rockwatch will be charging it’s usual administrative booking charge of £2.50 per individual (including adults who must attend with their children) but the Museum would be grateful for any donations.  They will have gift-aid envelopes for participants who may like to make a contribution.

Parking is not available near the museum and it would be best if you used the Park and Ride on the outskirts of the city.

Rockwatch does it safely…

Due to safety requirements numbers are strictly limited for some of the events.  It is essential in these cases that you reserve a place through the contact given.  Leaders reserve the right not to accept members who have not booked, or who arrive inappropriately dressed.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.
