Rockwatchers get ready for another epic journey back in time! Get your fossil-hunting gear ready because on the 16th June we’re heading to Walton-on-the-Naze for an amazing adventure!

Led by the amazing Ian and Ros Mercer, our adventure will take us to The Naze, a stretch of cliffs and foreshore in northeast Essex. Walton-on-the-Naze might sound like something out of a pirate story, but it’s actually a small town in northeast Essex. And guess what? It’s home to some seriously ancient treasures!

We’re talking about abundant shark teeth and other incredible treasures that have been waiting millions of years to be discovered. We’ll be searching for clues from creatures that lived 54 million years ago!

As well as searching for shark’s teeth; we’re also on the lookout for pyritised twigs and fruits, bivalve shells and gastropods. These aren’t your everyday finds, oh no! These are like treasures waiting to be discovered, hidden in the sands of time.

As we explore the beach and shoreline, we’ll be transported back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and the warm oceans were teeming with strange and wonderful creatures.

So, grab your magnifying glass, hard hat, and trusty rock hammer, along with your sense of adventure, to uncover some ancient secrets together.
