Walk in the Footsteps of Dinosaurs – A Dewars Farm First for Rockwatch

Dewars Farm Quarry PosterImagine standing exactly where dinosaurs once walked…

This July, Rockwatch is offering something completely new — a visit to Dewars Farm Quarry in Oxfordshire, a site that has revealed an extraordinary network of dinosaur trackways.

This is our first-ever trip to the site, and we’re incredibly excited to share it with you.

Here, preserved in ancient layers of rock, are the footprints of enormous long-necked dinosaurs and powerful meat-eaters, left behind when this landscape was a warm, tropical lagoon. These tracks don’t just show us what dinosaurs looked like — they show how they moved, travelled and interacted.

It’s like stepping into a prehistoric moment frozen in time.

But this day isn’t just about looking — it’s about doing:
You’ll explore a real quarry, examine tracks up close, and even hunt for fossils hidden within the rocks.

For young geologists, it’s a chance to connect the dots between rocks, fossils and ancient environments in a way that no classroom can match.

Because this is a working site with limited access, places are strictly capped — and we expect this one to fill quickly.

👉 Head to the event page now to book your place and be part of this exciting Rockwatch first.
