Join Rockwatch this February half term for a fascinating behind-the-scenes experience at one of the world’s most famous natural history museums.

📍 Meeting Point: Outside the front of the museum, beside the Redwood tree

♿ Accessibility: Museum has lifts; some behind-the-scenes areas may have limited space or access
👥 Maximum Numbers: 20 (limited spaces due to behind-the-scenes access)

  • Meet and welcome
  • Short guided tour of the museum
  • Behind-the-scenes access to:
    • Invertebrate collections
    • Vertebrate collections
    • Mineralogy & petrology collections
  • Free time to explore the museum independently

Practical information

  • Museum entry is free
  • Event fee covers the expenses of our Rockwatch volunteers who lead our trips
  • Toilets and a cafĂ© available in the museum
  • Shops and cafĂ©s nearby
  • Alternatively, bring a packed lunch to picnic beside the dinosaur footprints at the front of the museum, if you wish
  • No specialist equipment required

⚠️ Places are limited and expected to fill quickly. Advance booking is essential.
