Rockwatch is delighted to be teaming up with our friends at the Amateur Geological Society (AGS) – North London for a very special prehistoric experience!

Join us at Celtic Harmony Camp, a reconstructed prehistoric settlement set in beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, where we’ll explore what life was really like in the Stone Age.

What to expect

  • An engaging introduction to prehistoric life
  • Demonstrations of Stone Age tools and daily survival skills
  • Handling real artefacts
  • A possible flint knapping demonstration
  • Opportunity to bring your own worked flints or Ice Age fossils for identification

Our session will be led by Dr Lauren Shaw, with artefact handling supported by Mike Howgate (AGS).

This promises to be a fascinating and hands-on morning for curious young geologists and their families.

What to Bring

  • Sensible outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes
  • Enjoy lunch in the Centre Bistro or in Hertford afterwards
  • Any worked flints or Ice Age fossils you would like identified

Costs

  • Rockwatch members: £5 (subsidised by AGS)
  • Adults: £10

Maximum numbers:
40 Rockwatch members plus parents
20 AGS members

Early booking is recommended.
