A fabulous fieldtrip with visits to two geological sites – Burniston Wyke and Betton Farm. Burniston Wyke is on the coast and the Jurassic rocks show an environment of forested delta flats and meandering river channels where giant reptiles roamed. You should be able to find evidence in the form of early dinosaur footprints and work out how big the animals were! At Betton Farm Quarry the rocks are younger Jurassic and we will be able to see evidence of warm tropical seas and coral reefs with their fossil assemblages.

A fascinating day out with lots of opportunity to add to your collections. Great for families and for children age 7+.

You must be a Rockwatch member to go and the booking fee for this fieldtrip is £2.50 per individual. All children attending and their accompanying adults must book places.
