Come along for a fossil collecting expedition to the Red Crag Cliffs on this stretch of the Essex coast.  You’ll be with local experts Ros and Ian Mercer who will be able to help you ‘get your eye’ in and spot the hidden fossils.  If you’re very lucky you may be able to find a pyritised fossil from the London Clay along the beach.  Remember to bring trowels, collecting bags and a picnic lunch.  And sunscreen!!!

The event start at 10.45 and ends at 3.30.

Suitable for all ages.  You must be a Rockwatch member to go and the booking fee for this fieldtrip is £2.50 per individual.

Due to safety requirements numbers are strictly limited for some of the events. It is essential in these cases that you reserve a place through the contact given. Leaders reserve the right not to accept members who have not booked, or who arrive inappropriately dressed. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
