A low level circuit through the heart of the Pentland Hills that gives a rare glimpse of the rocks that lie deep beneath the Lothians. The oldest rocks in the area are exposed; sandstone and mudstone that has had a remarkable journey – these rocks have been at the surface before, but were buried by the volcanic eruptions that formed the Black Hill.

Day walk, 5 hours, £14/£12 concession. Walk details on the Geowalks website.

Please bear in mind that these events have not been organized by Rockwatch and you need to get in touch with the group involved to find out more details and to book.
