Join Rockwatch for a Pebble Hunt at Thorndon Country Park on

Every Pebble tells a Story! Come along and unearth the story of a pebble from its origins 80 million years ago! You’ll learn how to identify the 80 million year old pebbles dumped by floods from a massive ice-cap 450,000 years ago. You’ll also work out how to use the evidence in the Park today to work out past global climate changes.
The Pebble Hunt will take about 2 hours but you can opt out at any time.
