North Lincolnshire Museum websiteJoin Rockwatch on a field trip to a Jurassic, Frodingham Ironstone Quarry near Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the North Lincolnshire Museum on Saturday 19th August.

Join Clare of Rockwatch and geologists Michael Oates and Paul Hildreth to explore a site that once fed ore into Scunthorpe’s steel industry.

We start the day at the North Lincolnshire Museum in Scunthorpe to see the marvellous collection of local fossils and a short look at the use of the local ironstone as a building stone.

Then we drive to the quarry itself for a spot of fossil hunting.  We will have a debrief and a look at our finds with the experts at the end of the day (around 4.00pm).
