Rockwatch joins in the fun every year bringing our younger geology lovers plenty of fun activities alongside the more grown up programme.
Here’s what you have to look forward to:
Festival Day 1 Itinerary – Saturday 1st November
- 10:30 am – 4:30 pm: Festival doors open to the public
- Children’s Activities with Rockwatch: Engage the young geologists with fun and educational activities.
- Lectures: Fabulous talks from leading Geological experts about the secret lives of dinoasurs, The early evolution of animal life and the Jurassic coastline.
- Exhibitors: Explore a wide array of geological displays and activities from museums, universities, and geological societies.
- Fossil & Mineral Displays: Marvel at the beauty of ancient fossils and minerals.
- Books & Maps: Discover a collection of geological books and maps.
- Photographic Competition Entries: Admire stunning geological photographs submitted by talented individuals.
- Geological Artists, Ceramicists & Jewellery Makers: See the artistic side of geology through creative works.
- Adult Workshops: Participate in workshops and discussions for geological enthusiasts.
Field Trips Day 2 Itinerary – Sunday 2nd November
Location: Various geological sites of interest in and around London.
Field Trip Options: Participate in guided urban geology walks around London exploring the stones of Canary Wharf, a Geotrail around Trent Country Park, and a trip to The Evolution garden at the Natural History Museum.
