A new event that Rockwatchers may like to go along to!

The North Pennines Mineral Expo is being held in the heart of the Dale at St John’s Chapel, County Durham.  It’s been organized as a response to the recent resurgence of interest in specimen mining in Weardale.

Entry to the Expo is free and the Russell Society, a national group of amateur and professional mineralogists, are having a stall there.  It promises to be a fun day out and a great opportunity to meet other rock enthusiasts and get your rocks/minerals identified.

No need to book.  Just go along.  Entrance Free.

The location is:  St John’s Chapel Town Hall, Market Place, St John’s Chapel, Weardale, County Durham DL13 1QF

This event hasn’t been organized by Rockwatch and to get more details go to the Russell Society website.
