This year our exploration of the geology of South Wales will be around the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff.  It’s a fantastic area with a wealth of interesting sites.

We’ll be in Ogmore-by-Sea for one of the days where there’s carboniferous limestone, Triassic and Jurassic.  There are fabulous fossil and mineral collecting opportunities as well as simple structures and coastal geomorphology to look at.  The other locations are yet to be decided and we will let you know as soon as possible.

The trip is for two days and you will be expected to find your own accommodation.  It’s for over 7s only and all children must be accompanied.

You must be a Rockwatch member to go and the booking fee for this fieldtrip is £2.50 per individual.  All children attending and their accompanying adults must book places.

Rockwatch does it safely…
